A Tamil Church was founded in 1985 in Perth, Australia as a multi denominational Tamil Christian congregation by Tamil migrants from Sri Lanka. It was incorporated as the Tamil Christian Congregation of WA under the Associations Incorporation Act 1987. Since then the congregation has grown and many Tamil Christians from many nations have now joined the congregation. The membership consists of people from Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Uniting Church and many other Christian denominations. This congregation provides opportunities for Tamil Christians to worship in Tamil at least once a month and to meet fellow Tamils in fellowship.

This congregation is run by volunteers, elected each year by the general body of the congregation. An elected Church Council oversees the administration and the functioning of the Church. A convener for the congregation is elected to coordinate the monthly services, which are conducted by volunteers from the congregation. A treasurer is also elected annually by the general body to administer the finances of the congregation. Various volunteer groups are also elected to organize additional events like Church Camp, Winter Dinner, Carols Service and Watch Night Service etc.

The Tamil Christian Congregation meets on the first Sunday of most months (except January, April and December) at 4:00 PM, at the Church Osborne Park Uniting Church which is at the corner of Federal & Edward Streets in Osborne Park.
